I created 6 different images in watercolor for this everyday set of Greeting Cards. The giclée greeting cards are 5" x 7" and printed on 96 lb. gloss paper stock. The inside of each card is blank, with a matte white finish, and can be easily written on. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift-giving.

A little bit about each card.

Floral Wreath

Making the greeting cards is a good way for me to play with different watercolor techniques. I wanted to see if I could do a flower wreath without drawing a specific design first. I did not look at a reference photos, I just did it. It works hope you like it!

Rainbow Trout

Trying something a little more masculine. Growing up in Idaho I went fishing with family and friends and we would catch rainbow trout. I like fishing, but I Loved eating the trout more.

Swallowtail/Hydrangea

This Swallowtail Butterfly was flying along Warm River in Idaho when we stopped to feed the fish. I took 30 pictures to get this reference photo of him flitting along the rocky river back. I thought he would look better landing on a blue hydrangea!

Bird Houses

Loving birds, I have wanted to paint bird houses with birds and flowers. I liked designing the houses and flowers for this piece. I drew the birds, a male and female Tanger, a Goldfinch, and a Nuthatch. I had to resize them to fit into the design. I realized I had to paint these birds less then 2” long. I used a 000 brush (tiny). I may need to think about bigger birds next time.

You Talking to ME!

I took the reference photo of this Giraffe at the Wild Animal Park near San Diego. He was looking at us just like he was talking to us. I had to duplicate him in watercolor!!!
